Pacific Northwest

Trip to
Pacific Northwest
(Idaho, Oregon, and Washington)

Boise, ID
Hermiston, OR
Kennewick, WA
Boise, ID

Finally, after years of pushing back, we made the flight to states 47, 48, and 49 - Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  We rented an RV and drove to Boise to meet up with old friends, the West's.  I then got checked out in an Archer and we headed off to Hermiston, OR (HRI), Kennewick-Vista Field, WA (S98), then back to Boise, ID (BOI).

The airplane was great, but the outside temperature was stifling, Boise was in the mid-100's, and it wasn't much better to the northwest.  We did a touch & go at Hermiston, then followed the Columbia River over to Kennewick, where we stopped for lunch at a local place on the river.  We got a courtesy car, actually a Port Authority Jeep, and drove across a couple large bridges.  We then flew back to Boise.  It was unplanned that we'd cover nearly all of the Snake River, either by air or road, and towards the end by raft.
